I was just wondering if anyone knew about the tunnel in Phelps Grove Park? What does it connect with/is it worth exploring at all?

I'm not wild about this tunnel, mainly because it's a croucher that seems to go on and on. Too hard on the back for me to care where it goes.

I agree with gimpface that the tunnel definately requires crouching. There are 2 paths that are divided, but lead in the same direction. When you first enter you can stand up, but very quickly the tunnels height drops. At the 1st of the entrance there is a tiny bit of graffiti.
I would suggest instead visiting Jordan tunnel, Acid tunnel, or the funnel tunnels.

| What did they do to that park?? I was in springfield visiting recently and they made it all.... fancy. Or something. I liked it better when it was crappy! Everywhere I tried to walk there were fancy fences blocking my path! lol |

If we're talking about the tunnel that holds the creek, that one goes way back towards Delaware Elem. over by Pickwick Ave. south of Bennett St.
