Re: Night time adventure run 6/1, several stops, pics
Well, ended up being an all weekend adventure. Did alot!!! I haven't had a chance to upload any pics yet.
Friday night we went to Meta, MO to place called the Bat cave, along a bluff overlooking the Osage River. You hike up the hill, to where you can see the cave, but you actually can't get into the cave. You can see all the bats coming and going. Then we climbed up the side of the bluff to get to the top for an incredible view. Then worked are way back down and then up the otherside. Pretty steep with some minor rock climbing. All a blast in the Dark. That pretty much wrapped up Friday night.
Saturday, we set out towards Rolla, we went to Spencer Cave, this was quite the experience since we ended up with full permission to go in. Which was a unique way of getting it and stopping and talking with several folks. The owners name was TED and his dog Roxy. We spent quite a bit of time exploring Spencer Cave, was very muddy floor. Fun. We then went and found location for Easter cave but were unable to located the owners to ask permission and looked sketchy to go in with out out permission since right behind place they live that had several dogs. Then we headed out to try and Find SaltPeter cave, which is Northwest of Rolla. We hiked around the woods, without any luck. Later while at an Army Surplus store we got to look at current Platt Map determined owners and the lady their even looked up phone #'s for us. We have a contact to check with and heard they do allow, but didnt reach them and we were hungry and ready to head back. So thats getting arranged in near future.
Sunday, the plan was to go Mt biking and then Rapelling, well we did about 13 miles on the Katy Trail at Rocheport, climbed around on another bluff looking at rapelling ideas, then saw a cave along the trail but my girlfriend didnt want to go in. So we just rode Mt Bikes and then checked out another Bluff side in Columbia down at CoopersLanding, Providence access to the river.

I'm waiting for the pics that were advertised here.
More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

Funny you should mention that. Brandon(owner) has told me there isn't any caves at the ranch. But, when you head south oh hwy K. After you go down the big Ass hill on K down in the valley there is a road called goss cave rd. I've got the map of the cave but don't know the location, I'm sure if you knocked on doors they'd tell you.
What are you wheeling?
