A few years ago, I was given the old plates from my previous boss' vehicle because his tags still had like another year on them. I put the tag over mine and was pulled over almost immediately and told to remove them.
How the fuck do they spot that shit so quick? I can't hardly read someone's plates until I'm within a car length or two. How do cops spot that shit from a mile away??? |

| I always try to stay as legal as possible for that reason. If my license plate even has a screw loose it seems like I get pulled over. Yesterday while licensing a vehicle I did buy local truck tags instead of non-local... hopefully I wont get pulled over when I'm 50 miles away or more. |

Good lord dude! How often does this happen to you? |
Twice with my old Pontiac and twice with the Integra. I lived in a certain part of downtown where theft is high. Especially if it is not held down with a battleship chain. Hell they would prolly try and steal that for scrap metal, too. _________________ I have to look up just to see hell. |

I can't confirm it (because I don't care enough), but I heard once that cars and trucks/SUV's license plates start with different characters, so it's easier to spot a swap from one to the other. |

I didnt' know that.
When i lived in ks, they would give you a sticker for the new year and you had to put it over your old year. Well, people in my city kept having the stickers stolen. I had this happen to me one time, so the next time i put my sticker on the tag and then took a knife and cut it in all angles. From a distance it looked fine, but if you tried to pill it off, all you got was torn pices, and many crumbled away. At least they couldnt use it either. |

I always scrap off the old one and put the new one on the plate, makes it harder to get off in one piece if they steal it. _________________ Now I'll be bold, As well as strong

| Gotcha... Well in Missouri its that way. They did do away with the different styles of tags per weight. I just bought 12,000 lb tags for one of my trucks and it looks the same as my damn 6,000 lb tags. I wouldn't of bought it if the cops couldn't tell the difference. |

You live in IL and don't have a custom plate? Are you the only one? _________________ Now I'll be bold, As well as strong
