Well there are storms heading this way, so probably not, I've hiked the whole bottom when it was dry before. I doubt I'll be so lucky this time.

I was able to hike through the bottom of Grand Gulf when I was there probably about 10 years ago. Pretty neat stuff.

Lots of water in the gulf, still pretty though. I also found a few neat abandonments. Oh and I saw a cave through the trees outside Mountain Grove while heading down the highway.

There is definitely a tunnel. Goes from one side to the other. It was dry enough to walk through when I was there.

Yes, there is a cave and a long nautical bridge that is pretty much a cave. I've hiked it.
But those pics of the water being up pfft..... That's nothing, check these out. They are from um, I think about 2 years ago, when Thayer had a really heavy rain. Yes this is the Grand Gulf....completely full to the top.

I don't really know nowadays I haven't lived out there since I was 17. Back then the best time was late summer dry spell when it hadn't rained in nearly a month.

Back when I lived there almost every summer there would be a point when it didn't rain for a long time. I dunno about latly, seems like the last few years have been really wet. I will say that IF we hit a dry spell, and the bottom exposes, you want to be quick about getting down there. If the bottom drys out it will, in very short order, become absolutly choked with stinging nettles and saw grass taller than your head.
I hiked the bottom one summer after it had dried out for about a month. The upper section, hopping down all of the water fall area and what not, was fun, but after passing the junction, going towards the natural bridge, if became one of the most muddy, stinky, stinging, scratching, miserable bush-whacks I've ever been on. It was so bad that when I got to the pit end (the big deep end that the walk-way doesn't go down into) I said "fuck it, I'm not hiking through that again" and climbed out of the deep end. Of course I almost fell and died doing that.

+1!
I'd check the usgs stream flow gage records for the area to find out the average low flow time.

I love cheesy things like state parks. And I love Missouri. So how the hell have I never heard of Missouri's "Little Grand Canyon".

It's not even that ridiculously far from me. Pffft... I'm totally going here sometime this year. I swear it.
