| About 10 years ago I saw this movie with a blonde girl with short-ish hair and she had family problems or something that caused her to not want to be at home, or maybe she had no home. I don't know. Anyway, she made this room for herself in what was either a cave or an old mine and she had some strings of beads hanging in the doorway. Her friend (who was a boy) thought it was cool at first then stopped wanting her to go because it was dangerous. It ended up collapsing and I can't remember if she lived or died. Does anyone have any clue what movie this could be?? I know I saw it but I can't find a thing about it anywhere! |

| I seem to remember a similar movie, but I am thinking it might have been based off a book I once read. |

I figured it out! it's Gold Diggers: The Legenad of Bear Mountain. it's definitely a kids movie but that makes sense because i was maybe 10 years old when i saw it. It's pretty good I wish I could see a mine or a cave as awesome as the one they used in that movie. I'm pretty sure it wasn't real though, just an elaborate set. |

Almost reminds me of the book/movie "My Side of the Mountain" which I loved reading as a kid. They made it into a movie, but of course, the movie isn't as good as the book. _________________ Now I'll be bold, As well as strong

Movies never seem to be as good as books. Also, I got something wrong when i described it, both characters are actually girls, one is just such a tomboy that i mistakenly thought she was a boy when I was younger lol. |

| Sadly Netflix doesn't have "My Side Of The Mountain." I remember Gold Diggers but I must be thinking of another movie from that period. The one I was thinking of involved an alcoholic father. |

| Well the mother and father are both alcoholics in gold diggers. I wonder what the one you're talking about is I want to watch it now too. |

Alright I started looking for it. I believe the title is Gold Diggers: The Secret of Bear Mountain. Starring Christina Ricci.
It's all on youtube in 10 parts. Here's the first part:

Part 4 is when they get to the mountain and she shows her cave "condo" to Christina Ricci. (and no "cave condo" is not a euphemism for vagina) _________________ “I investigate things to complete my knowledge, my complete knowledge makes my thoughts sincere, my thoughts being sincere; my heart is pure.”

I don't know there does seem to be some awkward tension between the two girls... maybe it DOES mean vagina lol. She just wants to show her new friend her cave condo lol |

Gold Diggers... Cave Condos... awkward tension between the two girls...
I'm starting to think this really isn't a kid's movie at all but the director's & writer's euphemism for something else entirely. _________________ Now I'll be bold, As well as strong

| Haha I think so. At one point one girleven tells the other that she is gonna talk to cute boys at a party and it seems like she says it to make her jealous and they both roll their eyes and laugh after she says it. She never talks to the boys either. definitely some girly tension there lol |

haha and if you read the youtube comments there's a huge discussion about the lesbian overtones in the movie. Maybe I am on to something. _________________ “I investigate things to complete my knowledge, my complete knowledge makes my thoughts sincere, my thoughts being sincere; my heart is pure.”
