Franziskaner Beer = golden delicious liquid from the gods.
I called a music store yesterday seeking Monster Cables for a short run from a mixer to the DAW input. I clarified that the cable type I seek is XLR and the brand is Monster. They had never heard of Monster Cables before. |

Tell me more. I don't really travel anymore and am finding that I miss the opportunity to experience new, non-local beers.
Where is this beer from? What type of beer is it (IPA, lager, stout, pale ale, wheat?) Where did you get it?
Thanks. |

It's unfiltered wheat beer, bottle fermented. IMO the best beer, let alone of the wheat varieties. It's German, of course. You'll want the gold label Heffe-Weissbier. The red label is darker and the silver label is lighter. Any decent liquor store that has a good selection of imports should have it.
I used to work next to a liquor store with an amazing selection and I would try a new beer a couple times a week. I tried a lot of them during that time and my personal favorite is Franziskaner.
My ladyfriend and I have been drinking a lot of Leinenkigel's Berry Weiss lately. Good stuff. |

| I can do maybe one bottle of Berry Weiss. Have you given Magic Hat #9 a try? It's a good beer in the summer. |

The first batch we tried of Magic Hat was great, but every time I've bought it since, it hasn't been that good. Not sure what's going on there...
re: Franziskaner, it's the type of beer that belongs in a old beer stein. It has a character that makes it unlike other brews, it's unfiltered, but not dark. I don't know how to describe it, but to me it's the perfect beer.
I buy the big Pint bottles of it and just drink it out of the bottle. I don't pour it in a glass and swirl it around and all that. I just buy beer I like and drink it. In other words, I'm not this guy. Wow, I've been drinking this beer for years and have no idea where he's getting some of those descriptions from. |

When I was in Germany back in the late 80's, I discovered Paulaner Bros. in Munich, but it was hard to find anywhere else, even in Germany. _________________ The devil is in the details, but I'm pretty sure God is in my sock drawer. |

| I agree with you on the Magic Hat. Last summer, I was head over heels for that stuff. This summer it's not quite as good. I tried a brown ale the other day. Normally brown ales are NOT my thing, but this one was delicious. I'll try to remember what it was...maybe Boulevards? Another interesting dark ale I actually liked was Big Sky's Cowboy Coffee Porter (course this was at the end of the night and I was feeling fine at the time. Wonder what I'd think of it now, lol.) Also Anchor Steam, out of San Fran, is tasty but heavy. If you can get your hands on some Red Hook, that's good stuff. I toured their NH brewery. Their ESB is good. I also like Yuengling (sp?), but its not available west of the MS. It's brewed in the oldest brewery in the US, in Philly. I think locals think of it as a 'base' beer, sort of like Bud Light to us, but I like it. Atlanta's Sweetwater 420 is really good on a hot day (or any day, but it's light). Lastly, haha this turned out to be long but I get that way about beer, have you tried Stone Brewing Co's Bastard beers? |

I don't like the beer. Tried all different kinds but never found one that I liked the taste of. I can only assume that I just don't like the taste of one of the key ingredients to all beers, though I couldn't identify which one. I do, however, like me some vodka. _________________ Now I'll be bold, As well as strong
