They've put off the demo due to budget reasons.
While you're in the area checking out Big Boy's, go check out that big warehouse facility behind the storage lots visible from the highway. It's right across the street from the fire station. You know what I'm talking about. |

The gas station you posted is definitely vacant. I drive by it very often and don't see anything. There's another gas station down the way that used to be at the corner of 40 and some crossroad, but now that it's closed off and goes to an overpass they closed down the gas station. You know what I've ALWAYS wanted to see? I want to get inside this tiny little building on Progress Blvd in Wentzville. I've driven by it a billion times looking for some sort of contact info to see inside or even rent it and use it as an office for my side business. Supposedly it used to be a little drive through coffee place and then was a snowcone place. There's also a small I-believe-to-be-abandoned house near where I live. This tiny house is always boarded up and has a notice on the outside of the house. I live minutes from these places. The big gas station is closed and the bar that was attached moved down prospect rd by Imos and the "mall" I don't know if there is anything inside the bar, but there is a few boxes and office chairs in the gas station and some farm equipment behind it.
As far as the tiny house you're referencing off of Prospect, I've never been in but poked around the outside and it looked like it used to be some type of quick stop post office.
I don't know how to do a link to google maps but if you put in these coordinates, 38.790198,-90.804897. This is a location of an abandoned farm house with multiple barns, shed, and out house. Definitely worth checking out, I haven't been through the whole house before, so if anyone goes I'd be willing to attend and show you the 2 entrances to the property. |

Sad when old diners close, we do everything we can to stay open in this day and age of generic fast food joints, especially pay our taxes!

BTW, that small building was, for a while, a small coffee joint. And I believe it was also a snow cone place for a bit, too. Would still love to get inside. |
