Built in 1912 and used as a hospital, mental asylum and tuberculosis sanitorium. A 20+ building complex. Some of the buildings are used as a prison (buildings not shown), the rest sit and slowly decay. Everything from mental patient cells to a laundry mat and a large boiler house. It was interesting taking pics inside buildings and looking out the windows and seeing inmates walking around in the distance in fenced courtyards.

Oddly enough, picture 11 looks like my elementary school (though the halls were a little bit wider as I recall,) and picture 19 looks like my junior high lunch room/auditorium (it had one of those made up names like "lunchitorium" or something)
I always knew there was something wrong with those schools _________________ Confucius say: No soup for you! |

Research, lots of research. Internet, library, historical archives, and talking to people, especially historians. _________________ Infiltration Expert...

WOW Freaking awesome find! Do think you'd get in a lot of trouble if you were caught. With the prison being on the same grounds I mean. just curious. Looks like it's worth the risk.
Are those lights on in the pic of the gym or are those skylights? _________________ “I investigate things to complete my knowledge, my complete knowledge makes my thoughts sincere, my thoughts being sincere; my heart is pure.”

I did get caught actually . But it was only having been there for several hours. Me and my buddy had to cross a wide open field to get to other buildings, there was no way not to be seen. About 30 minutes after being exposed, a cop/security gaurd pulls up in a pratrol car. Fortunately he didnt find us in the buildings, we were getting ready to leave when he pulled up. He was actually nice but stern. It was obvious that we were just "taking pictures" as I told him since we were holding cameras and had completely fake "press passes" on us lol. He told us to leave, so we did.
And those werent skylights, some of the buildings had electric on even though they werent being used at all. That building, strangely enough was the building in the worst condition yet had the AC on...
And thanks! _________________ Infiltration Expert...

Fiend is right, the building's that are falling down are the ones with electricity on. It makes no sense. |
