I'm glad to see you agree that my assessment of the mineral classification boundaries are, in this case, totally insipid.

Let's agree on the number of grains of sand it takes to make a heap of sand. Let's say it's a million. So if you take away one grain of sand, does that make it no longer a heap? Take away another. Does the sand lose it's heapdom at that point? If your answer is yes, there is a chance that you are somewhere between half and three quarter tard. If your answer is no, then is there a point at which heapdom is lost, and what is it? Following this line of logic, a single grain of sand could be considered a heap.

Okay. Let's say that there is a saucer of water sitting on a chair outside in 30 degree F. Placed 2 ft above the saucer is an air conditioning unit that is pumping out a constant stream of 25 degree F cooled air. The water freezes from both the ambient air and artificial A/C-ed air.

Is the ice block a mineral?

I was going to say I reject your premise that there is an air conditioner that reaches 25 F. Never seen one, neither has google.

I'd say you'd have to somehow figure out which crystals solidified because of exposure to 30 degree air, and which solidified on contact with the 25 air. You can't really, so you'd have a weird hybrid. The by-product of artificial processes I would define as artificial as well.

Also unrelated but just as relevant:

if (1+1)-(1+1)-(1+1)... = 0
and
1+(1-1)+(1-1)+(1-1)... = 1
then 0 = 1
