Night time pics
Night time pics
Took a couple of shots last night. The moon was a crescent and had a small ring around it. Need to play with this camera a little more.

RE: Night time pics
Nice! I've been working on some night shots too. My point and shoot has a "handheld" or "tripod" option for the night landscape setting. That handheld option helps immensely!
RE: Night time pics
Nice. The moon is really hard to shoot.. Stupid moon.

Ugh I know right? I got this shot of the super moon a few years ago but I had to edit the hell out of it.

I've had trouble with the damn Clark Bridge for years too. They never turn out right. I finally got a semi-decent one when I got this camera a few months ago.
Re: Night time pics
Everytime I shot the moon with a ring around it, it looks like a boob.
RE: Night time pics
Ah, boobs.
I heart them.
I heart them.

Re: Night time pics
I haven't had much luck shooting the moon. Out of taking tons of moon pics I only ended up with 2 decent ones.

Glasscurtain, what camera and lens did you use for those?
I think something clever is supposed to go right here.

I just use a Kodak z812 Point and shoot. Nothing fancy. Just got lucky.David Keetz wrote:Glasscurtain, what camera and lens did you use for those?

Wow you took those with a point-and shoot? That's more than luck, that's talent!

Re: RE: Night time pics
haha thanks! It's a point and shoot but I can set my fstop and shutter. I just got lucky because my camera finally auto focused correctly on it.Mandi Milenko wrote:Wow you took those with a point-and shoot? That's more than luck, that's talent!
Actually, that's why I haven't been shooting in a while. I'm just so tired of fighting my camera to focus on what I want.

I'm trying to spread the word. The EOS XT is a solid dslr and can be had with the 18-55 lens for cheap nowadays (~200 bucks). This beats any point and shoot.
I used to use one before I got the XTI. Here's an example of the image quality from an XT, basically indistinguishable from the XTI just lower MPX. Just ignore my crappy photo skills from back then..

Re: RE: Night time pics
Wow alright. I can totally swing $200. I'm just a little leery buying a used one. Especially on ebay. DSLR's are pretty fragile right? Did your XT hold up to some abuse?SubLunar wrote:http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid= ... &_from=R40GlassCurtain wrote:Actually, that's why I haven't been shooting in a while.
