Re: Post one thing that made you sad today
Riding my motorcycle on a popular road in a secluded area.
I see a bike parked in a weird spot on the side of the road and the rider is waving for me to slow down. Right around the next curve is some sort of accident.
There is a motorcyclist laying in the road and another motorcyclist doing some frantic CPR on him.
I didn't see a wrecked bike, but there was about 2 other motorcyclists and a car pulled over, too. I don't know if someone went wide and hit him, vice versa, or what.
Pretty sobering thing to ride past when you're out having fun.

Re: Post one thing that made you sad today
There was an old school machine shop and an old guy out in the middle of Illinois that both provided some unique work that I've needed done over the years. It's that time again, so I called the machine shop. Well, it burned down this spring. Ok, do they have the contact info for the old guy still? Nope.
Shit.
Shit.
Re: Post one thing that made you sad today
Government prolly has his contact info if he owned the place.

Same here.SubLunar wrote:I've been really busy lately and trying to get a new job and have only been out sploring a couple times so far this year.
Though I may be moving to Alabama or Louisiana for work. Guess I might need to get excited about oil wells and half-sunken barges.

This was a couple weeks ago, but..
RIP Vinnie Paul
IMO the greatest metal drummer of all time. Can't believe both Dime and Vinnie are now dead.
I don't even know how many times I watched the Pantera Home Video #3. Watching it now is instant flashbacks. Goddamn.

RE: Post one thing that made you sad today
A couple months ago, some comrades and I were out for a nice afternoon jog through the woods away from a security guard. During the excitement, I fucked up my shoulder real bad. Not sure if it was when I tried jumping over the creek only to land in mud up to my knees/elbows or when I tried climbing up the tree that was laying across the fence when the branch I was holding broke.
My shoulder still hurts. If I bend forward, it will just fall out of the socket unless I make a conscious effort to hold it up. I can't lift it straight up without significant pain. Not really sure what's wrong with it or what to do about it.
Plz send cat videos to help speed up my recovery.

Dude, have you been to a specialist? Or at the very least urgent care? You have health insurance through your job, I assume. You might have to see a general physician and get a referral to a specialist for the insurance to cover it.SubLunar wrote:Not really sure what's wrong with it or what to do about it.
Falling out of socket could be serious enough that you need surgery and/or physical therapy to repair the damage. The longer you wait on getting it looked at and potentially fixed the more difficult it'll be to fix it, and it won't get any better in the meantime.
If I had to guess, I'd say you tore one or more of the tendons in your shoulder.

Using doctors is a strange new concept to me so I'm unfamiliar with the process. Might not be a bad idea though.Nicotti wrote:Dude, have you been to a specialist? Or at the very least urgent care? I totally feel you there but it literally falling out of the socket is a big deal. You should really get looked at.SubLunar wrote:Using doctors is a strange new concept to me so I'm unfamiliar with the process.
