RE: what made you happy today?
got nice and sweaty trying to explore in the heat yesterday. But unfortunately nothing panned out. The first location was still well maintained with active security presence, the second was demolished and the third was uninteresting. Saved a more likely accessible location for last, but ran out of time so we just had to drive right on past it on the way home. Although nothing really worked out, still had fun.

My grandpa bought this rifle several years before he died, and it's still never been fired. My dad is thinking about giving it to me so that I can put it to good use, as it's been sitting in it's box for far too long. I'm excited to get my hands on it and shoot stuff. Anyone have any experience with .30-30 lever guns?

Re: what made you happy today?
I've got a Marlin 30-30 sitting in my closet right now. My apartment manager tried to tell me I had to get rid of it. I was just like "Oh yeah, no problem, I'll get on that..." Haha, No.

I personally love, LOVE Winchester 1894's and the 30-30 is a fine caliber. I have one, which was one of my grandpas, from the 1950's.mindwaave wrote:My grandpa bought this rifle several years before he died, and it's still never been fired. Reading through the old "Other" threads, good stuff...
More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

Kinda wished I'd punched a certain jackass, though.
