Eh, I've climbed stuff, but not really like those parkour guys do. Mostly just to get into a place or for the view or whatever.

Yea, I've seen some stuff about this, but would never try it. I'd end up hurting myself or missing a ledge and falling to my death. Crazy, in really good shape people.

Aren't they called freerunners? The stuff they do is damn impressive.

On that note, I think Scion (owned by Toyota) did a commercial with some freerunners in it. Pretty sweet stuff.

EDIT: yeah... answered my own comment. Its the first thing listed under the media thing.

Oh yeah! I remember that. They were shooting up walls and jumping off stairwells and all kinds of shenanigans, and then it said "do not attempt - professional freerunners."

I remember the first thing that went through my mind was "freerunners?" followed shortly by "Professional? Someone pays them to do that??"

I've been enchanted by the idea of freerunning. I've done my fair share running and climbing in the forests, but never in a city. Sounds like fun, I'm in.

We could link this with Shaolin kung fu training, learn some in-air sumersaults, wear all black, and become a bizzaro urban ninja group.

If we start stenciling "footclan" symbols everywhere on top of this, we'll make an interesting news story...
In conclusion, there is no conclusion. Things go on as they always have, getting weirder all the time.

What would we do though, just run around on shit? And what, hope that someone notices? I guess maybe we could do it during events or something.

I want to organize a Rooftop Run downtown. Jumping from rooftop to rooftop and such...I think it would be fun.

I've got a ninja gi and tabi boots. I've never had a reason to use the gi for anything, but the boots are unbelievable for climbing chain link fence :P

Well, I'll admit to being very attracted to this idea, but I'm still not convinced the plan holds water. What would we do, exactly? This sounds like one of the ideas I came up with in high school. I would come up with all these great concepts, like "I'm gonna dress up as a robot and walk around the Battlefied Mall!" or "I'm gonna build my own diving bell and explore the bottom of Stockton Lake!" but they always ended up either A: not happening, or B: not going as planned.
