I just wanted to take a minute and wax about the demise of WinAmp and the sad state of music players and music visualization these days.
Imagine this, little kiddies, 20 years ago, pre-streaming music, a free program you could download to play your mp3s. Modded by a huge community of creators that let you customize the look (called the "skin") of the player and audio visualization. I feel the creativity has been sucked out of this once vibrant community now that streaming has taken over.
Plus, I miss hearing this: https://youtu.be/HaF-nRS_CWM
If you younguns' know of a good app to stream Pandora/Spotify through or a good visualizer let me know.
This might become the new thing: https://www.aimp.ru/

Winamp. Days of Yore
More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

Re: Winamp. Days of Yore
I'm still whipping the llama's ass, Winamp supports some ancient extensibility APIs that allow me to sync laser shows to music. Remember plugins being a normal part of software? lol
Preservation over plunder.
