Respect for Shemp72

Post by SubLunar »

I just saw some horrible news and wanted to share his gofundme.

I met him through UO and was glad to have him around. He was a fun, laid back super nice dude. I only explored with him a handful of times and always assumed we'd get out more again sometime. It doesn't look like that will happen and that really sucks. I wish I had made more effort to stay in touch.

Don't take shit for granted. Spend time with people you like because you never know when it'll be too late.

Yeah, I came here (haven't been on in forever) specifically to post this. :( Huge bummer. Sad that I never got to explore with him.

That Feb 19th update is heartbreaking! I think he was in the group that explored the Goldenrod? Otherwise, I hadn't ever explored with him.
More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

Yeah he was at the Goldenrod.

Microwave and I also had a super fun 10 story up and down scramble with him, after setting off an alarm in a lower level, which was an experience he did not seem to enjoy.. lol. Fun times that was.

I've been wanting to find a good STL UE party spot for the past decade or so and we even went out to a new spot this past weekend, before I saw this news, with that same primary objective. I wanted to get us all together for some laid back comradery and I'm pissed that I couldn't get this together before something like this happened.

Had been thinking of that skyscrapering escapade, and got to thinking about Shemp. I think this is the only photo I ever had of him :/

Goldenrod was an amazing little roadtrip. 2014 was a good year.

Some place I think I have the group photo of all of us at the Goldenrod.

...It might be on one of my dead HDs that I haven't gotten around to having salvaged yet.
