Anyone getting unread topics when they post?

I've noticed sometimes when I post something, after it redirects me to the post, that it doesn't mark my post as read for me in the forum. It only does this when I post something, otherwise everything gets marked read when I view threads. I think this may be because I'm on a crappy 26.4k dialup connection (sue me, I live in the boonies).

Does it do this to any of you other guys when you post something or is it just me?

Argh, crap. That means it's not just me and I actually have to fix whatever's wrong.

yeah this has happened to me too i thought no one was posting then i seen that there was these posts that i have not read but they were marked as read.... But when i got on today there where marked as unread so i think the problem is fixed

It does it to me any time I post, unless I hit view post after I post something. However I noticed that occasionally even after I hit view post and go back into the main forum, it shows that there is a new post and it's the one I posted... doesnt' happen all the time, but it's still annoying.

Well... I'm glad to know it's not just happening to me. I'll talk to some of the phpbb gurus and see if they have any ideas why it's happening. Hopefully it's something I can fix :/

Yeah... Same here. I don't know if it's just hiccups with the mySQL servers at our site host, or if there's a bug in the code somewhere that's causing it. I'm checking with the phpbb gurus to see if anyone else has had that problem.

I think it's something on Powweb's end, which is our site host. Because no other phpbb admin (and there are a ton of them out there) seems to have had this problem.

Plus, Powweb recently placed some limits on the number of SQL queries you can have per hour. We're not anywhere even near their limit with our little forum, but I have a feeling the bug is related to that change. I'm kinda hoping it'll go away on its own, but if it doesn't I'll start making a stink about it.

Let me know if it's still doing it to you in about a week.

Actually, I'm gonna check with the phpbb geniuses again while I'm at it, just in case.
