I noticed that sometimes, when you quick reply, the topic comes up as a new reply, even though it was you who did it, yet other times it doesn't.

Not a big issue, but annoying to get your hopes up about a response, and find it is just your own big mouth.

Ah ha! A bug I'm actually able to fix!

This problem is actually a bug in a hack I've installed on the forum. They just released a new version of that hack that gets rid of this problem. It's especially annoying to people like me on dialup who have to reload the whole thread just to mark it as read again.

The only reason I haven't already installed the new version of the hack is because it's freaking ENORMOUS, and I'm almost guaranteed to temporarily screw up the forum while I'm tinkering with it. So, I'm trying to wait until I've got a good chunk of time to troubleshoot all the problems.

But this will be fixed shortly!

Okay. I went ahead and did the new hack.

This should be fixed. And I think I fixed all the bugs from installing it, but if anyone notices any weirdness, let me know.
