I have a freind who grew up in illinois, i am trying to get him to post several places he tells me about up there. Mayhaps if i could get enough people to respond and ask him to here, he migth get off his tail and do so...

Taylorville, it is a po-dunk hick villige that spawns a few decent people every couple of generations.

That's cool. There isn't alot in that area to explore, unless you count Springfield (IL that is). I've been exploring in Springfield before, but there isn't alot compared to this Springfield.

The only place I can remember is a place called Stone Cabin. Never really impressed me much, but I would like to go back and try to find a way into some of the old coal mines.

If I remember correctly, Taylorville was a booming coal town till they tightend the restrictions for sulfur content. Perhaps worth a roadtrip...
