Does anyone actually know what all the writing means? Also, those rounds aren't boxer primed, at least not in the traditional sense of the meaning....

yeah... I named it that due to what they made there. Ammo. but if you know what boxer primed means,m then you get an extra "star" next to your name.

as for the writing:"quantity", "description" (Military designation), "Fitment", weight, date of mfg, and lot numbers

Yeah, I know what boxer primed means along with Berdan primed. I also know what all the writing means since I'm an artillery guy. Each box holds two rounds of 105mm high explosive rounds with TNT filler. There are also some boxes that held HEAT rounds, or High Explosive Anti-Tank. These rounds were the primary tank killers for artillery. We don't use them for artillery any longer; we leave the tank killing to other tanks, primarily. We can still kill them with DPICM, FASCAM, Copperhead, Excalibur (if stationary) and other assorted rounds. We might still have some HEAT rounds in inventory but I haven't ever seen one.

The surplus store at exit 179 on I44, Burns Army Surplus, has a whole bunch of new 105mm ammo boxes. The ones in the OP are from WWII.

I am not sure when this plant closed. It was cleaned out pretty good of all equipment, but is a massive facility.
