photos of caving trip in CT

Post by xcathodex »

...unfortunately i didn't have my tripod OR flash with me, so i don't have any photos from inside, but this is a very narrow cave with several rooms connected by small passageways. 2 of the rooms are very tall with well-formed "belfry" areas.

there are at least 2 portions of the cave we weren't able to explore. one is a channel that branches off from a tall room; we were able to crawl face-first for maybe 20 yards, but as the tunnel twists it also gets narrower to the point that you can only shimmy forward and backward.

the other was a very narrow crevasse that none of us were able to fit through; i found myself hanging in space between 2 portions of rock my 32" waist wouldn't fit through. it was maddening, because we were able to see a very large room just on the other side that isn't accessible through any other route we've found.
