Essex County Prison

This place was built in 1837. This trip was just supposed to be a drive by to find the place and then go back at a later date with Jessgcmo and MR. Hairy because of the location of the place history of incidents with bums and crackheads. But curiosity got the best of me and I ran in quickly with my camera to check it out. After about 5 minutes tiptoeing around with my fist raised I had a minor incident with a squatter so I decided not to try my luck any more. I will return later better prepared.

Jessgcmo and I went back today. We ran into 3 bums but had no resistance. We found lots of strange things like drag marks and other odd things. One of the local guys that works for me was stunned we were going into the prison. He has a part time job as a police and fire dispatcher and told me that they retrieve bodies from the place 3-4 times a year and that they get a lot of wierd calls to the place- like it's haunted or something. but anyways here are some pictures and hopefully Jessgcmo will post his good ones later.

Yes the first picture is it. They have a gallows but we did not make it to it. The other pictures are between the walls at the open sewer. The round bulges are the backsides of the toilets in the cells. They just dump into a giant open sewer. The toilets are stagerd so they don't dump on each other.

I bet it was some harmless old high school and he is tricking us. And the second pic is where the school's headmaster lived, not the "warden".
