mahoney vally mine

Post by piplnr65656 »

I found out Monday morning that the mahoney valley mine (which I would be driving by on the way home was on 60 day closer notice and for those of you playing the home edition the mine has the only operating stripping shovel in the world ( there are 3 left in the world one being the one just west of joplin. We managed to hike threw the woods and down the highwall to get a nice view of this soon to be scrapped monster :( For a good size comparison note the large wheeled loader to the right of the tracks in the 2nd photo.

Well... If the controls are basically the same as a backhoe or a trackhoe, then I could probably monkey my way through it. :)

That thing is awesome, though.
