Hutchinson Sinkhole

Post by S1L3N7B0B »

It seems sinkholes have been quite popular lately on the boards here, but to my suprise, no one has mentioned this one. It's been on the news a lot...

http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&lr=&r ... n+sinkhole

There's all the articles on it.

I think this one is a different sinkhole then the prviously mentioned one.

While searching, I also ran upon this...

Anyone know anything about it? Bonner is so damn depressing though, so I doubt I would want to take the time to check it out.

Those first two are both the Hutchinson one. That sucks, though, because apparently they're filling it in. None of the links on Google news had pictures of it, either (although one had a video I couldn't seem to watch). I hate when they fill those things in. It's the same as sealing up a cave.

Now, that Bonner Springs is freaking awesome. That's definitely going on my list of things to see in KC.

Speaking of which, if anyone knows where that tunnel in Bonner Springs is, I'd love to know. I did a little searching and couldn't find anything on it.

You know I don't have an actual GPS even though I am in the market, but my cell phone has GPS and I can get a close enough coordinate for you if I do indeed locate this. I am on my way out to search for it, I'll fill you in later.

Scratch that being too depressing part...

Well if you searched today, you're probably going to beat us to it. :P Youth Sonic, Lost Lenore, and I are all going to try to find it this weekend, too. We'll probably try to hit it tomorrow; who knows though. Do tell us what you find there, or maybe we can even meet? I suggest you come to the meetup tomorrow at 2:00 at Tea Drops in Westport.

On another note, we all did some scouting in KC. We have a lot of stuff to see tomorrow. I think we'll be busy for a while.

Added to the UER UE DB. I'll get around to adding it here tomorrow. Maybe.
