New to the forum! Hello!

Post by newtoarkansas »

Hello everyone!

Trying to get this post up before heading to work, so it'll be a little rushed.

I literally moved to Arkansas without knowing anything about this state. I logged on a forum, asked people where I should live, and Arkansas was one of the suggestions. I bought a plane ticket, booked a hotel, and grabbed a rental car and said "screw it" and just went.

I'm so very happy I made the choice, Arkansas is insanely beautiful and since I love hiking and fishing, this place matches me perfectly. I live in North Central Arkansas and I feel very comfortable here.

On Sunday I went to Buffalo Point and hiked. I went on all the trails except the forest trail, so I ended up hiking around 10 miles that day. One hike included the Indian Rockhouse, which was amazing.

I'm looking for people to meet up with and hike (or just hang out), but it's not a must, suggestions on hikes are always great too. Arkansas is the fourth state I've lived in, and I love it the most. I've lived here since November and since the weather is warm I'm finally exploring a lot more.

Here are pictures from my hike, only 4 pics but it'll do for now till I get back home.

Well, I tried. I'm guessing this is not an active forum. Seems hard to meet fellow outdoors people, but I'll keep trying damn it.

Good hiking to all of you.

Unfortunately, the Ark forum is kinda quiet. But welcome to the forums.
More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

I didn't know people intentionally and willfully moved to Arkansas.

I mean I guess they do have good peaches. I remember driving to Arkansas once and buying peaches... A-grade peaches, man.

Sure! I'm always up for hiking, especially weekends. You're a little far south but we could figure something out.

Sadly you do not know the situation I was in. The day I found out something, was the day I logged on a website and begun asking where I should live. I picked a place to move, took out a loan, and that upcoming weekend I was on a plane out. Maybe my life was in danger and I didn't want to die?

I'm sorry you do not like Arkansas, but as somebody who enjoys the outdoors, I am incredibly thankful I came here.
