Hello Guy's,
I just happened to stumble across this site while looking for an old amusement park that we used to visit when we were children. I must say, to whoever created the site with the before and after phots of Dogpatch, good job!
I have some fond memories of that place first in 1976, and then again in 1983 I believe. I have lots of photos somewhere? My grandparents lived in Pettigrew and we would come visit from Southern California. With Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Magic Mountain, and Universal Studios all within an hours drive of home, first choice was always Dogpatch!
Best memory of all was the train ride where half way around the track, the train would stop at some type of hillbilly farm where women would come up to the passengers and harrass them. One time a blue haired girl wanted to get on the train with us, the older of the two asked me what would your mother say if you brought this blue haired girl home? I said (at the age of "she dont look to bad to me and I think mom would be proud!" Everyone laughed, even the girls.
Thanks for posting the pictures and bringing back some good memories......Thank You!

I have no clue what they are going to do with it. My guess (noticeing that the hub has grew into a bike shop and other shops) that this is going to be a biker hangout/nature park. Or something along the lines of that. They have some of the apratments for rent too if you want to leave out in the middle of no where. The transformation of dogpatch over this year has blown me away i would never in my life think i would ever see dogpatch in that condition again.

All the buildings up top are owned by different people. They're just kind of going along with what the HUB owners started. We do have plans for the park but the appeal will not be focused specifically on bikers.
We still have not found the train

Now, Sturgis is mostly professional people who pull their Harleys up in trailers behind their Escalades. But not completely. Saw a lot of the old crowd partying under the overpasses in a rainstorm.

Hell, that sounds like a good time to me!HMndnproud wrote:Sorry, nothing against bikers, but I can do with out drunk, naked, fat people. Tatoos and skanky women. And they still haven't found the train.

Saw a web site from some biker get together, it wasn't Sturgis, I don't remember where it was. There were naked people all over the place. Old naked dudes. They should have been completely ashamed to let people take their pictures. Naked women who definatly proved that gravity works. Those images are burned into my eyes.
