Cotter Arkansas train tunnel

Post by BRANDOFLUCK »

In Cotter, AR there is a train that crosses the white river on a bridge. If you go to the campground right in between the two bridges (one for cars, one for train), you can park your car down in a camping spot on the lower part next to the river. There is a trail leading up to the train tracks. We hiked up there and followed the tracks for a ways. There is a huge tunnel that goes through a mountain that highway 62 is on. It is pretty cool, you can see all the hole that charges were placed into to blow the rock. The tunnel is about 400 yards and all enclosed. Supprisingly there is no graffiti anywhere.

Awesome! Thanks, dude. That's another one I had no idea about. Better yet, it's within driving distance. And it's still in use, right?
