mystery cave in Ozark, AR
I know where a cave is that the entrance has actually been framed in to look like a door way in the side of bluffs. There are two ways to get there one is by boat the other by repelling. This is actually under the town. Rumor has it that Civil War Soliders used it to hide weapons others have said it has stairs thatleads to one of the homes on top. I'm not sure of each if any one is interested I can give more information. I'm just not brave enough to explore it myself

Never heard of that cave but they say the same thing about Yellville where I live. Supposed to be a bunch of tunnels under it also filled with stash from the civil war. Funny thing is it's never been found.

To actually see the opening you have to be on the Arkansas River and know where to be looking. To go in you have to cross Union Pacific railroad property

Rail work looks to be completed. This weekend may be safe after all weather permitting. Don't forget to take pics if you go.

It doesn't go anywhere, just a small room. More like a bunker really. I could see soldiers using it to monitor river traffic. There are two large concrete tubs inside obviously used to store something at one time, but there's nothing in them now. The tubs had metal lids, one of them is laying on the ground. I'll put up pictures when I get the chance. I'd like to go in with a metal detector.

reminds me of water basins in spring houses I've visited. Was the railroad always there? Might it have been used to refill the boilers on old steam locomotives?
