Lost Louisana Mine
Lost Louisana Mine
Read a couple articles the other day about the Lost Louisiana Mine and one of them was about a local site with indian markings that the early settlers thought was the site fore buried spanish treasure. After thinking on it for a little while I decide where the spot the article was talking about had to be. We made the drive and luckily the owner was home. He was more than happy to let us look around. Can only imagine how awesome this place was before the treasure seekers tore it up.

I thought the lost Louisiana mine was supposed to be buried and no one has been able to find since. This is in the Ouachitas if I'm correct?

This is the place from the article in the last picture. It is along the mulberry not far from Cass

They interpreted the Rock Art as Spanish Treasure markings and dug/mined in the area looking for the mine. That cave was already there. There are a lot of holes carved into the rock in the area from where they mined.

It's crazy how big a hoax can get. It's still kinda of big nowadays I've read forum threads online about people still trying to find it lol.

People love the idea of buried treasure. I'm sure there is still stuff out there to be discovered but not from baseless treasure stories.
