Rolla, MO
New member here. (Freshman @MST). While I am aware that there are multiple past forums about things to do in Rolla, many of those are 5+ years old, and several of those places no longer exist, or are under careful watch now. If anybody knows of any places that are currently explorable in or around Rolla area (half hour drive max), I'd really appreciate it, thanks.
Re: Rolla, MO
Congrats on starting at Rolla! I just graduated from there myself. We've got a nice thread here about the town and surrounding areas, so maybe use that one. Remember to use the Search button at the top right as well.

Look through the rolla mega thread and tell me if anything strikes you as something you'd like to do. It's pretty much all there pretty much.

Some sweet pics of the recent flooding we had down here. These are from the train bridge in Jerome (by the Trail of Tears monument (another good place to explore shit (Looking at you, thebrokanarchist)))
Regular river level (~30-35 ft to bridge deck)
Overhead view of river at major flood stage
Free hanging track

RE: Rolla, MO
I'm over in St. Robert and would be up for doing stuff in Rolla.
I'm into geocaching, pinball machines, card and coin magic, amateur radio and amateur astronomy.
Re: Rolla, MO
I'm not in Rolla, but I do like Pinball, what's your favorite?
More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

There's so many good ones. My favorite is probably Tron by Stern Pinball. Then The Addams Family. I have a 1980 Firepower I bought from a guy in Kansas.Nicotti wrote:I'm not in Rolla, but I do like Pinball, what's your favorite?
You? Have you been to the Silverball bar in St. Louis? That place is awesome!

Medieval Madness, LotK. I have not been there yet, but I've heard about it. Back when I worked out in Chesterfield I'd go to the mall once a week and play. I wish I owned a machine, but I haven't the funds for it.

Just don't challenge me in Space Cadet pinball and we won't have problems.

I didn't know there was cheat codes. I was just naturally the best at it.

I'm also attending S&T and will be returning in the fall for my sophomore year. I've been lurking a while and want to meet up with some people when school starts up again to do some exploring, both urban and more outdoorsy.

Welcome to the forum! Most of us active Rolla guys went and got ourselves graduated, but we still do stuff in STL and beyond.Mechy wrote:I'm also attending S&T and will be returning in the fall for my sophomore year. Yeah I'm moving out tomorrow actually. Gotta do some globe trekking. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions, I've sniffed out a lot of cool areas to explore and stuff all around phelps and (mostly eastern) Pulaski counties.

Don't climb the Effel Tower, I hear they frown upon that.PANIC! on the Titanic wrote:Gotta do some globe trekking.
