Interesting Missouri Cave Literature

Post by RedRook »

I found two books online that provide a wealth of information about a wide variety of caves in Missouri. The first one is "Archeological Investigations" by Gerard Fowke:
http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/18931

The second one is "Caves of Missouri" by Dr. J. Harlen Bretz. It is a little frustrating. The searchable one that has the whole book is here, but it has no diagrams or pictures:

The one with diagrams and pictures only comes one page at a time, here:

Caves of Missouri is linked on this site elsewhere I believe.

But thank you otherwise.
More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

I've got an original copy of Bretz's cave's of Missouri. It's a really interesting read.

While not a cave book, Geological Wonders and Curiosities of Missouri is also a great book, and it gives directions/coordinates.
