Bridge piers along Niangua River

Post by bugo »

A few years ago, I went canoing on the Niangua River north of Bennett Springs, and noticed some bridge piers next to the river. I eventually found this website:

The piers were downstream from the NRO campground.

I'll have to check that out sometime as well. The part about the general store having two basements is intriguing...

Hey, I loved this story. We have been going canoeing down there for literally decades. We know the owners of HO-HUM livery and campground right where those piers are. I always wanted to know the story behind them. Thanks for posting that. And I can't wait to go down there again, haven't been in a couple of years now.
