I would like to go, but I don't know if school will permit. The only reason that I would not skip is because of a test, and maybe even then. Is there any special equipment that will be needed?

lights , food , and something to sleep on , it gets kinda cold when you quit moving around....
the're only homeless at night , during the day, there just outside....

Sounds interesting. Ive got a question : How cold does it get? Ive only got basic camping gear(no cold weather stuff).

I'll guess the usual underground temp of mid 50's - mid 60's.
