It's an active naval yard (hence the stupidity), but as far as I know the building remains unused.

Well, activity didn't stop you from exploring an old insane asylum...
More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

Activity generally doesn't provide sufficient dissuasion, unless it's military activity..Then again that hasn't stopped us either..

I know that was douchey sounding but it's true, you could hear the firing range from the building and govt property signs on the fences.. Portsmouth is a little higher on the impossibility scale, though.

That Portsmouth Naval Prison is one reason Sailors hate Marines. They were some of the nastiest and sadistic guards ever, and were renowned throughout all of the services for their cruelty.
I had a long-ago friend who spent some months there in the early '60s for a minor infraction and the stories he would tell! And he was in for something minor!
Since that is still on an active base, rehabbing submarines, no less - it would certainly be foolhardy to attempt penetration.

That rich history gives it a character that makes it all the more appealing.. Not that i'll be trying it any time soon, just saying I love me some good stories.

I've had some stupid ideas before. My next stupid idea is to try this in ESTL or Carr Square, but I need a wingman to film. Should be fun

Ha ha Baghead that was funny. We were trying to mess with people on the way back from doing our zombie shoot because she was still in her make-up. You'd be surprised how many people don't look over at the car next to them on the highway! We got a few reactions. Best one was from a passing cop. :D
