U.S.S. Inaugural
Re: U.S.S. Inaugural
Also stopped by the Gordon C Greene. Looks pretty much the same as last time I was there, except less timber attached to the deck.

Re: U.S.S. Inaugural
Yeah! My only regret is I didn't walk down the hull to look at the lower stern deck shown here. I'd already climbed around on the boat at this point, was back on shore and getting ready to leave when I took that shot. I couldn't get an angle from the shore to look at it better and I'd seen deckhands tightening the barge moorings while I was there, so I wasn't about to try and get on them for a better view. Last time I photo'd it was about 10 years and 23 pages ago.
Based on the amount of wrinkling now versus then, looks like they've rammed those barges into it a few more times over the decade.

Re: U.S.S. Inaugural
This is the Main Stern Deck. All of this is underwater/buried in the river bottom for the Augie, except for the starboard hull next to the cabin where the depth charge projector sits.

Re: U.S.S. Inaugural
This is what I call the gun deck as most of the gun emplacements are on it. Stern to bow. The starboard stern and the entire bow of this deck are out of the water/riverbed on the Augie at low water. I'll post comparisons in the future, as I get them compiled. The hatch on the deck that can be seen in the 2nd pic is the one we crawled into and explored the mech room. On the port side of the stern smoke stack is a smaller metal boat. Not sure if it's for missions or a life raft. I'll have a video of it and the rear guns in an upcoming post.

Re: U.S.S. Inaugural
Comparison: In these images from the Augie you can see the Jan 2022 condition of the bow gun deck and midship. The bridge deck and above has been removed. The plating on the front has been removed to where you can see the captain's shower and washroom on the left and the cryptography room on the right (partially in the riverbed). The deck plating where the 20mm gun was has been removed.

Here's an image of the area pre-cuts. I'm climbing up the mount for the blue shells in the pic from the Hazard. Area on the Hazard:

Re: U.S.S. Inaugural
HELL YES!
It's about time someone got out there to see that boat. Excellent work! Really cool seeing those shots together.
Also, I totally want to buy that model.

Re: U.S.S. Inaugural
ikr I kinda want two. One to built like the Hazard and one to paint all rusted and put on it's side in some resin colored like water like the Augie, before they cut it up.SubLunar wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 9:37 pmAlso, I totally want to buy that model.

I couldn't find any dealers online that weren't out of stock/back order though.
