The return of Falstaff Beer?

Somehow I got on the subject of Falstaff with one of my customers at work when he asked me if I knew that they were brewing it again. I said that I didn't think they were but he swore that his friend had one just the other day. He was some old guy who used to drink it back in the day. I don't believe he is correct, but subsequent googling uncovered this tantalizing bit:
Falstaff on Myspace wrote:Will Falstaff Return?
A number of the Friends of Falstaff have written Pabst Brewing as the Falstaff name has reappeared on the Pabst web site as a brand. Could this perhaps be an indication that the Choicest Product of the Brewer's Art will return?. The Pabst spokesperson said that they are taking another look at Falstaff, but for the time being are focusing their marketing and sales efforts on the reformulated Schlitz. If that succeeds, then 'Staff may be back.
And:
I got a return e-mail from Pabst saying this too.
I spoke with an alcohol distribution proprietor friend of mine today and he will keep an ear out for me.

If you've had one of the new "Lemp" beers and noticed that they don't even use the original shield logo, it's because Falstaff actually still owns the trademark on that symobl. I think that fact bodes well for the possible resurrection of Falstaff as a recognizable Saint Louis brewing icon, especially now since AB turned Belgium. Of course Pabst will be brewing it and I doubt they will being doing so in Saint Louis. It would be nice if they did.

I just tried a Schlitz tonight and it ain't bad.

I tried American Pale Ale the other day. Is that from the InBev takeover, or has that been in the works for a while? It was crap. Totally hated it. Still love me some Schlafly though!

I didn't like the resurrected Griesedick.

Haven't had the "new" Lemp, though.

+1 to Redox...Schlafly's Pale Ale is good stuff.

Pabst has just resurrected Ballantine IPA, which Falstaff used to brew. And because of the relationship, the name of Falstaff has appeared in the various news articles about the new Ballantine. Here's to hoping that refreshes their memories that they have one of the most legendary beers of all time gathering dust in their vaults. Before A-B, Falstaff was the king of beers.

I had a 6 year old Falstaff a while back and it was actually quite good. I still have one more unopened one..

Perhaps a tad OT, but - back in the '40s and'50s and into the early '60s, Falstaff (or Flagstaff as we kids called it) consistently outsold Budweiser (A-B's only label then, besides Michelob, which was for the rich folks).
This naturally infuriated Gussie Busch to be second best in his own home city. Urban legend has it that this was the REAL reason he purchased the Cardinals and Sportsmans Park – Falstaff was the best selling beer there, and he promptly forbade its sale. And he of course renamed the park – he followed Mr. Wrigley's clever way of advertising the product.

THE TIME IS NIGH

And in 2017, Pabst said, it also plans to resurrect other once-famous brands such as Lucky Lager, Pearl Lager, Jax Beer and Falstaff Beer.

Oh. Hell. Yes.

I really hope they're able (and willing) to make it as close to the original as possible.
