This reminds me, I have some house photos that I've been meaning to upload. Project for tonight. And some pics of an office building that I scouted for months and was sorely disappointed by what was inside. But was pleased as punch that I got in.

Odd that you explored Moselle the other day.
I 'explored' it just last night via Google drive-by. This was occasioned by someone posting in a local cycling site that he'd grown up there, not that many years ago. I'd never heard of the place before, so was curious.
Apparently it had a Frisco RR station at one time and many railcars were shipped through it from the long-disappeared Moselle Iron Works.
The Iron Works' furnace and chimney still stands, about a mile SE. Use 38.379960, -90.880899, although I could not see the stack. It's on the National Register of Historic Places - https://www.dnr.mo.gov/shpo/nps-nr/69000100.pdf

See http://www.stmarys-moselle.com/chapter8.html
There is a long string of photos here, including the o/s and i/s of the bank, apparently from Fall 2013 - kinda disjointed, but keep scrolling to the right: https://www.flickr.com/photos/darrensno ... otostream/

I never did find that furnace the two times I've been. Thanks for the info and coordinates! It's a cute little town, but I was a little disappointed to see it wasn't actually a "ghost town". I have yet to find one. I think they are all out west.

There was an old hotel that used to be right next to the bank, almost touching it. Nothing left but rubble now. The amazing thing is it never suffered through a fire or anything. It just fell because it was old I guess, and because of neglect.

You can see a smaller (very tall) stone chimney in google, near the coordinates you supplied, along Cedar Lake Drive. It also can be seen from street view of Old Cove Road.

Not the large furnace shown in the DNR document, which appears to be in a wooded area near there.

Isn't Phenix, MO a ghost town? No one lives there and it's probably still there.

Outside of Ash Grove. It's almost 4 hours away. Funny, the link at the page leads to undergroundozarks.com

More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

Interested in knowing if any of the buildings in Phenix remain. Been too lazy to do more than a cursory search on the internet.
