Yeah it still sits abandoned. Someone bought it but never did anything to it. I would love to go back in for more pics!

First post here.. my name's Brandon. Mainly shoot urbex and cars. Yesterday my brother and I went for a drive down 44. I came across this house in Bourbon off of the south outer road in town. I know it's been there since at least the 20s, because of the name and "1929" carved into the old concrete on the porch. I'll be sure to post up my processed photos, but for now I just have one cell phone shot.

@ mandi's pics....

Yep! That place used to be a a"country club" called Cobalts. My grandparents used to belong to it in the '60's back in Chuck-A-Burger's hey-day. My dad remembers going there a lot, the porch used to be lined with pinball machines, and there was a swimming pool with snack bar located right behind the house. There used to be a street car that ran next to it.

Actually my dad went by there yesterday and talked to the guys painting the outside. He asked what was happening with the house and they said they didn't even know!

They let him inside

He said (and as you can see) it needs a lot of work. Cool none the less that something is going to be done with it.

Sounds like my kinda place, I love me some pinball and swimming. :D
More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

All of the acreage behind it used to be baseball fields too.

I knew that place the moment I saw your first pic. I'd been there as a kid for some kind of family get-together, I think. It's relatively close to my house, too. Just curious, did you park your car right out front or in one of the nearby subdivisions?

It used to be a clubhouse. I parked on one of the side roads nearby. Some van pulled up to it right as we were leaving. I think they were trying to scare us off but they were a little late because we had already explored it :)
