I rode the city museum wheel too..... It was actually fun, but as you're going around you realize it's really old and then you notice there are no guards on anything. I was admiring the drive chain within arms reach with no protection what so ever. But, that's the way they built stuff in the day, so you have to respect that.

and take inot consideration you are on a big peice of steel that is not actually the roof top which was not designed to hold a ferris wheel and also its a really long way to fall

Currently, there is an exhibit in the Missouri History Museum at Forest Park about the 1904 fair. Pretty interesting and they have a large floor map of the fair. Quite a few artifacts and even some of the artistic decorations from some of the buildings that they've dug up.

It would be quite interesting to find some of the dump sites and excavate them.
