I used to go with a bunch of the guys from my work and 1 guy whoi had a AAA Licnes so we would all chip in and pay for like 5000-7000 rounds of 45 and .223 and 9mm he had a uzi a couple M-16's and a old drum feed thomson man them were fun days---i actually prefered the old slow thomson to the uzi but the M-16 was a blast

this is gonna make me seem hypocritical, but I saw him up at that NRA convention in April (i wanted to see rednecks in their natural setting). The next day Cho blew all those kids away, and he was on CNN ASAP saying had gun laws been less restrictive, those kids would've been able to shoot back...

on the issue at hand, generally I think firearms are unnecessary for UE. having one on you if you get busted, permit or not, is going to make any cop eliminate the possibility of just letting you go.
