I know it was sold about a year ago. I'm sure this is the first stage of the metamorphasis into loft apartments or such. Better visit while you still can, it's one of the best sites in StL.

RE: renovating falstaff
I was just in there an hour ago. They've tarred the roofs and there are 2 Caterpillars in there tearing shit up.
The room/building with all the generators and gagues is empty.
I wonder how much of the building they can save.. it's in pretty bad shape.
We discovered we weren't alone, so we had to leave. I didn't get to check the cool green staircase(s) or the caves, but last time I was in there (couple weeks ago), the caves were being pumped out. Might be a good time to get down in there.

It's disappointing that it won't be abandoned any more, but at least it's not going down like a lot of other great historic buildings have.

I'm going there right when I get back, although it won't be full of lofts anytime soon, lol.
I love falstaff

Deforestation!
The water level in the caves seems about the same, but they have installed light fixtures and wiring and stuff down there.

I guess they weren't Caterpillars, but you know what I meant.

Wow! They really are renovating. Damn, that sucks for us. It looks like the operation is well underway.

Whoa... I had previously assumed it was a rumor or a possibility, but they already have construction equipment in there.
Shit, there's no way I'm going to see it now.

RE: renovating falstaff
I'm so glad we went up today - perfect time to see it! No workers... gotta love the holidays. I've never been in there before today but it was flooded when I tried to go down one area.
I didn't get to see every single part accessible but I think I saw most. It was my friend's first exploration and she was scared of a lot of it, but I'll hand it to her, she did check out SOME areas she was very much against.
That place is amazing... as soon as you think you're done, there's another weird staircase, and another, and another... we did almost have a mishap on the green steps, though. One flight of them is boarderline perilous.
