We must have just missed each other..graffitifetish wrote:I'm so glad we went up today - perfect time to see it! No workers... gotta love the holidays. I've never been in there before today but it was flooded when I tried to go down one area.
I didn't get to see every single part accessible but I think I saw most. It was my friend's first exploration and she was scared of a lot of it, but I'll hand it to her, she did check out SOME areas she was very much against.
That place is amazing... as soon as you think you're done, there's another weird staircase, and another, and another... we did almost have a mishap on the green steps, though. One flight of them is boarderline perilous.

Yep, I always consider that kind of thing when exploring an abandoned structure. The structure itself was once a witness to life and activity. I think that aspect of it is what attracts me to UE.

The history is just so cool a place that was at one time in competion with Budweiser but then the same can be said about Lemp and the old Welsh Baby Carriage building

Exactly. Think of the conversations they had.. and the work they did.. and think of how some people could have worked there for decades and not been to as much of it as we explorers have.ropingk wrote:any body else ever think about how many workers walked up and down them stepts??? hao mand diffrent feet were on them

That's actually an article about a different brewery. They had one on Forest Park Ave. as well.zippyelf wrote:http://stlouis.bizjournals.com/stlouis/ ... tory3.html
