Old Appleton Bridge
This Bridge was built in 1879 by H.W. Sebastian & Co. of St. Louis; washed away by flash flood on December 3, 1982; and reconstructed in 2005 . It is a wrought-iron through truss bridge over Apple Creek on Main Street in Old Appleton near Wittenberg Missouri. While looking at the newly reconstructed bridge Memory machine and I came across what was left of the old mill that at one time was connected to the falls at the bridge. Very cool find on our was to Wittenberg.
Re: Old Appleton Bridge
Beautiful. It's cool that they integrated it into a working road. Was the mill interesting?
RE: Old Appleton Bridge
The story behind that bridge is interesting.
The town of Wittenberg was actually large than
Altenburg at one point. Have you ever seen
the natural gas pipeline that crosses the river?

I've seen it from Illinois. It's huge! I saw it in the distance and thought it was a new bridge they put in!

RE: Old Appleton Bridge
Very nice. I forget how much neat stuff there is around stl.
What's the point of making a point if the point you are trying to make is pointless? Do you get my point?
