That church is really neat. Freak, Boo, and I randomly stumbled upon it one night as we were taking the long way across town after visiting the mall. I saw Freak bearing the cross. It wasn't all that heavy.

The sealed door at the end of the tunnel leads to the school building next door, which is now the church building as well. Evidently the congregation didn't want to keep up the old building so they just moved the service next door.

For some reason I am just now finding this thread. Great pictures guys! I can't believe that stained glass window has not been demolished yet. Especially considering there was graffitti inside.

I'd love to see what stuff I could take from that church... concidering that it's just getting destoried and no one seems to care what happens to it.

willard, I know you are planning a wedding - but I think you are taking the "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue" a little too far :D

you also could consider anything taken from the church to be borrowed because that would make it sound better :)

I'd prefer "Taking without asking with the intentions of never giving it back."

The tunnel under Tucker is driveable! Just an FYI if you would rather avoid the bum chatter.

The Jesus you're talking about scared the crap out my "crew". We were just scoping the place out before later exploring it. We didn't bring flashlights as we didn't plan to enter so we used our flashes to photo the basement. Needless to say, Jesus looks a little creepy on a 2.5 inch LCD when you're not expecting to see him.
