abandoned mining vehicle
We found about 20 mining vehicles about 1/2 mile into the mine, including this eccentric truck with a stairs and platform on top.
RE: abandoned mining vehicle
Is this in the same mine that the campouts are held in?

RE: abandoned mining vehicle
No, this mine is 20 times bigger, over 900 acres, three miles long!
RE: abandoned mining vehicle
20 times bigger than the gigantic fucking mine that I camped out in!? That was the biggest mine I've ever been in! It took like 10 minutes just to get to the bonfire walking straight back into the place!
Awesome find, too btw.

LOL. The party cave is maybe 6-7 acres... this one is over 800. And even better... we're hosting a campout / bike trip through this mine next monthSubLunar wrote:20 times bigger than the gigantic fucking mine that I camped out in!? Re: abandoned mining vehicle
Yeah I apologize I sent you the wrong date. It's been postponed for July but we haven't exactly set the date yet. Since July is right around the corner I'm going to see if we can set it up for the last weekend of July.

Sent you the directions Sublunar
Re: abandoned mining vehicle
Would love to look at these! Mining vehicles are oddly fascinating to me.
The Bank Bailout Budget has more money then the 50 year running NASA space budget, and we don't have money for a space program?

RE: abandoned mining vehicle
I know it's an old topic, but that truck was likely used as a work platform for drillers to install roof bolts for ground control. The wide spans in Missouri limestone mines can require a lot of bolting.
