Help me find Pink Hill

Post by thetrio »

OK I am looking for the remants of a ghost town somewhere outside of Blue Srrings or Grain Valley. Here is what I know: There was a town built before the Civil War, The name of the town was Pink Hill and it was somewhere outside of Blue Springs off of Pink Hill rd somewhere in between 7hwy and ? (not really sure) The town was burned down in the summer of 1862, According to what I can find on the net there is still most of the old foundations of the buildings somewhere in a farmers field. The town had its own Post Office and a relatively large trading post. I have done quite a bit of looking and found it on some old maps at the library website but still cant quite pin point where its at. So if someone on here gets bored and finds out any info please let me know. :D
I went over to the dark side, but just to pick up a few things.

Would this be it?

The little village of Pink Hill was situated in Sni-a-bar Township, on the line dividing Ranges 19 and 20, in Township 49 N. Its plat bore the date of November 5, 1854 and was signed by George W. Love and D. A. Neer.

trio, when I talk to you wednesday, we'll locate that. I was a surveyor and what willard said makes perfect sense. When I have time we'll sit down and look at a map.
I don't know where to start.....
