A sunday trip to the NIKE base, anyone?

I found an overhead of the base from terraserver and used Google Earth to find it and how to get there. It's pretty simple actually. Going out there again is a good idea. I wasn't on this board when the first group went.

Just for info if anyone should need it, the base was called the NIKE Missle Battery and it's designation was KC-30. There's actually another one in Olathe but it's till in use. It was used by NIKE-Hercules program till the late 60's then discontinued and the National Guard took it over till 88. Since then it's sat unused.

All four of them are discontinued and are owned privately. That said, the only one I know the true state of is KC-30.
