Ok, here's some information put up by one of my Odd Fellow brothers on the Grand Lodge of Missouri Site. Granted the date says 1982.

In our lodge hall at Queen City Lodge #14 here in Springfield, we have a couple of old black and white photos of the Odd Fellows Home hanging on the walls.

The Odd Fellows home was used for Widows and Orphens. That's one of our obligations is to take care of the widowed and orphened and to visit the sick and burry the dead.

Here is a website of the original Odd Fellows which the Independent Order of Odd Fellows broke away from over 200 years ago. This site give some good information on how the Odd Fellows got started.
