gun dumping?

I heard that the cops dump confiscated guns off a bridge into the Missouri. I think it's on I-71 (?)... anyone know about this? If so, I'd like to borrow a large magnet...

I agree with KC77CJ7 that someone lied. I would bet that if you found a gun using a magnet from a bridge near a city, you probably would find a gun that wasn't suuposed to be found. If you got caught with that weapon which, was probably used to committ a crime, then you could be in some major trouble.

Most likely, confiscated guns go in an evidence locker at the police station. You could probably try to steal them if you wanted, but I wouldn't recommend it.

i used to drive a tow truck and on several occasions they would stop the line as a police van with escort pulled into the shredder . they filled a junk car with guns and shreded them up , checking to make sure they were broken

I also know that in some places (Los Angeles, for sure) they melt down some guns, and others they render inoperative and use them for training purposes.
