Re: House at Kearney & Campbell
I'm looking at Google Maps satellite view and I'm assuming you're referring to the house on the northwest side of the intersection? I of course don't know when the street view pictures were taken, but it was for sale at the time and they were really working on bringing attention to it.
I noticed a sign built into a crumbling white fence at the corner that makes it appear as some sort of business was ran there, like a bed & breakfast type business maybe. But the house doesn't really look big enough. There's another sign in the yard closer to the house that also appears to be a business sign. I can't read either one of those. But I can see several for sale signs and realty signs.
Why do you ask about it? What does it look like now?

Well...it's been a bit since I've been by there. It looks to be an older, larger home. And yes, it's on the NW corner. This place is on a very large lot for NW Spfd; with that sign in the yard plus the larger lot size, it piqued my interest. I'm wondering if Willard has any info on the house. Last time I was by the place, let's just say it had "personality".
Also, I saw the googlemaps Murney sign. The property is not listed on Murney's site, so I don't think it is currently for sale.

Looking to buy it, Belle?
More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

Back when I was in high school (early nineties) this house was for sale. I think it was owned by the guy who owned Gold Exchange at the time. I remember it because my girlfriend had this crazy idea that we could get together with a couple of other friends and buy it and all live there together. Now that I look back, it would have been fun. Around the same time the Pythian Castle sold for about five grand at an auction.
Back in those days we used to go to town with a yellow onion on our belt, which was the tradition at the time, and I once met Abraham Simpson...

I drove by this place again yesterday. I STILL wish we knew more about it. It looks like it has a story.

I looked it up on the assessor's page, but most of the info is password protected.

Mother In Laws quarters and the original carriage house built in 1860. Main house has 6 bedrooms, built in 1888 all original wood has been restored including hardwood floors upstairs and down.
Looks like the sign says Ebenezer Campbell house
Was last for sale for $750k for the houses and land. It is 4 lots so it can be split up.

What the fuck is up with the creepy ass mannequins? I saw the one by the stairs and couldn't tell if it was a person or not, then there's the one above the pool table. Wow, that person had issues..
