Hydraslide

Post by BROUSER »

Soooo...has anyone "explored" hydra slide? Out there on South Campbell? Man, that place is getting grown over. That used to be the best. You could really hurt yourself at that place, if you knew what you were doing. A few times, I went up over the side, under the chain link fence, and into the parking lot.

I remember my mom won some free admission tickets from the radio when i was little. We never used them, because we live on the north side, and my mom hated going to the south side if she didn't absolutely have to. Ive driven past there and have noticed how junked up the place has become. It's was more of a tourist attraction than anything, and the only tourist market springfield has is old people going to Bass Pro and to eat some cashew chicken. I swear, if somebody would make a cashew chicken place inside Bass Pro, it would make a fortune.

Yeah, I've been meaning to put the Hydraslide on this site forever, but I put it on the back burner since it was on Raven's site. I still have pictures of me and my brother there when we were kids.

The ninja pictures are ok, but the description is off. Neglected to mention the little round mats you could get. And it was no myth about going out on the 4th lane. You had to start in the 4th lane, switch to third, and go back to fourth to do it. Of course, if you blocked the water with one of the big square mats, it made it that much slicker so you could build the speed to do it. I had one friend that cut his head open and we went to the hospital with him. My little brother stayed for free the whole time we were at the hospital getting stitches. I can't see how anyone hurt themselves at Wet Willy's.

OK, I know I didn't grow up here, so where is the hydraslide? What is the big deal about the 4th lane? and Wet Willie's sounds like a bad pron movie.

There is a place kinda like that up here in Grandview. I know nothing abut it but have driven past it at least 500 times
